Why Bulgaria

Built for the location-independent lifestyle

Most countries punish you for not having a fixed address. Bulgaria doesn't care where you are — it cares that your company is registered.

🌍

Run it from anywhere

Manage your company from Bali, Lisbon, Mexico City, or wherever you are. No residency requirement, no physical presence needed.

💶

14.5% total tax rate

10% corporate tax on profits, then 5% dividend tax when you pay yourself. The lowest effective rate in the EU — by far.

🏦

Modern banking options

Open accounts with Wise Business, Revolut, or traditional Bulgarian banks. Accept EUR, USD, GBP — all currencies your clients use.

🇪🇺

EU credibility

Invoice from a real EU company, not a dodgy offshore shell. Your clients see a European VAT number and a Sofia business address.

0% VAT on B2B services

Selling services to EU businesses? Reverse charge mechanism means 0% VAT on your invoices. No VAT paperwork for your clients.

🛡️

~€70/month social costs

Minimum social contributions as a self-insured manager. That's your health insurance and pension — covered at the lowest EU rate.

Digital nomads who made the switch

☆☆☆☆☆

"I've been working remotely from Southeast Asia for 3 years. Setting up a Bulgarian company gave me a legitimate EU entity to invoice through, a proper bank account, and my tax rate dropped from 33% to about 15%. The whole thing was done without me leaving Chiang Mai."

"As a freelance designer hopping between Lisbon and Tbilisi, I needed a stable business base. My Bulgarian EOOD gives me EU credibility, a VAT number, and works perfectly with Wise. Vangel made the whole thing painless."

FAQ

Questions digital nomads ask us

Not for your Bulgarian company — it stays registered in Sofia regardless of where you are. However, your personal tax situation depends on where you spend the most time. Most digital nomads structure their travels to avoid becoming tax resident in any high-tax country. We recommend consulting a tax advisor about your specific travel patterns.
Your company needs a registered address in Bulgaria, yes — but you don't need to live there. We offer a virtual office in central Sofia for €28/month. We receive your official mail, scan important documents, and forward anything you need. The address appears on your invoices and business documents.
Yes. Most of our clients use Wise Business or Revolut Business as their primary company account — both can be opened fully online with a Bulgarian company. If you need a traditional Bulgarian bank account, we can open one remotely via Power of Attorney for a €120 one-time fee.
Estonia's e-Residency gives you a digital ID to manage an Estonian company remotely. But Estonia taxes distributed profits at 20%. With a Bulgarian company, you pay 10% corporate tax + 5% dividend tax = 14.5% total — a significant saving. Bulgaria also requires only €1 minimum capital vs Estonia's €2,500. Both are EU, both are fully remote.
As the manager of your Bulgarian company, you register as self-insured with minimum monthly social contributions of approximately €70. This covers Bulgarian health insurance and pension contributions. Many nomads supplement this with international health insurance (SafetyWing, World Nomads, etc.) for coverage outside Bulgaria.
Yes. Your Bulgarian company can contract with freelancers and subcontractors worldwide. You invoice your clients from your company, and your company pays your subcontractors. Their fees are a deductible business expense, reducing your taxable profit.

Your location is flexible.
Your EU business base shouldn't be.

Register your Bulgarian company in 5 days. Manage it from anywhere. Pay 14.5% tax instead of 30-50%.
