How it works

From freelancer to EU business owner
in three simple steps

No travel. No Bulgarian partner. No complicated paperwork. We handle everything.

We register your EOOD

A single-owner LLC in Bulgaria. You're the sole shareholder and manager. We prepare all documents, you sign before a local notary, done.

5 working days
02

Invoice through your company

Your Bulgarian company invoices your clients at 0% VAT (reverse charge for EU B2B). You receive payments into your company bank account via Wise, Stripe, or a Bulgarian bank.

03

Pay yourself dividends

After 10% corporate tax on profits, you distribute dividends at 5% additional tax. Total effective rate: 14.5%. That's it.

FAQ

Questions freelancers ask us

Yes, absolutely. Bulgaria's 10% corporate tax rate is established by Bulgarian law and recognized across the EU. The 5% dividend withholding tax is also legally defined. Using a company structure for your freelance work is standard practice — millions of freelancers across Europe operate through limited companies. There's nothing aggressive or questionable about it. Bulgaria has been an EU member since 2007 and follows all EU tax directives.
No. You can manage your Bulgarian company entirely remotely from anywhere in the world. You don't need Bulgarian residency, a local partner, or to ever visit Bulgaria. Everything is handled through a Power of Attorney. However, your personal tax residency matters — you should consult a tax advisor about your specific situation, as the country where you live may still tax your worldwide income.
Yes. Bulgarian companies can open accounts with Stripe, Wise, Revolut Business, PayPal, and all major payment platforms. Since Bulgaria is an EU member, your company is treated as any other European business. Many of our clients use Wise as their primary business account and Stripe for client payments.
Bulgarian accounting is required by law and is very affordable. Most freelancers with straightforward invoicing (no employees, limited transactions) pay between €80-150/month for a Bulgarian accountant. We can connect you with trusted accounting partners after your company is registered. Your accountant handles monthly VAT declarations, annual financial statements, and tax filings.
Nothing changes for your clients. You simply invoice them from your Bulgarian company instead of personally. The invoice looks the same, the payment process is the same, and if they're EU-based B2B clients, they actually benefit from the reverse charge VAT mechanism (0% VAT on your invoice). You receive payments into your Wise, Stripe, or Bulgarian bank account.
Similar concept, but with significant tax advantages. Estonia charges 20% tax when you distribute profits as dividends. Bulgaria charges 10% corporate tax + 5% dividend tax = 14.5% effective rate. Estonia also requires €2,500 minimum capital while Bulgaria requires just €1. Both are EU countries with fully digital business management. The main advantage of Estonia is their e-Residency digital ID; Bulgaria's advantage is the substantially lower tax rate.

Every month you wait costs you money

At €80,000/year revenue, a German freelancer loses ~€1,567 per month by not using a Bulgarian company. How many months have you been overpaying?
